Full Moon in Aquarius: the Heart of Individuality

Dear star family / Bonjour famille céleste,

Welcome to the first of two Full Moons in Aquarius in a row! As the Sun has just left Cancer and entered Leo yesterday, the cosmos is inviting us to come home within the sacred sanctuary of our heart. I hope you enjoy this post, embrace the unique magic of this Full Moon, and celebrate the Heart of your Individuality.

Every few days, I tap into the energies of the stars and receive some intuitive messages that I jot down in one of the many journals that I keep around my home. I was reminded that Leo is ruled by the Sun and that our Sun is also a star! See and feel into that for a moment. The Sun’s journey into Leo every summer represents a sacred opportunity to energize every atom of our physical being through the bright life force of the Sun. Leo teaches us to live life to the fullest and follow the bliss of our heart’s true desires.

Every Full Moon strongly reflects the light of the Sun. Leo wants us to celebrate the personal power of self while the opposite sign Aquarius asks us to express our unique individuality within the larger, collective tribe consciousness. Since the Sun’s energy is strongest in the sign of Leo, I had a vision of this Full Moon in Aquarius receiving the power of our Sun and expressing it across the galaxy! One of my favorite scenes in LOTR is seeing the fire beacon of Gondor light up and spread across mountain tops in a majestic display reaching out for help across vast distances to the kingdom of Rohan. This scene beautifully captures the elemental magic of fire and air to communicate the deep interdependence and compassion which light up the fire in the heart of humanity. Together, Leo and Aquarius can express the personal and collective will to awaken the maximum level of human consciousness. Today’s Full Moon is lighting the first beacon. In 4 weeks, on August 22nd, the last cosmic beacon will be lit. How will you respond to this call?

In some ways, the Full Moon in Aquarius embodies the divine Rebel archetype. It takes a strong heart and a vast amount of courage and willpower to express our most authentic self in a world where the pressure to conform to the norms and expectations of society are stronger than ever. The world needs us to embody our true, natural, authentic, liberated self.

This Full Moon is also reawakening some memories of my travels to India in 1995 when I visited the ashram of the great Sri Ramana Maharishi, one of the most revered Indian sages. There is a book about his life and teachings called: Be As You Are. “Your own Self-realization is the greatest service you can render the world.” I feel that this Full Moon illuminates this powerful, profound and simple wisdom. The Full Moon in Aquarius invites us to release into the sacred fire anything that has held us back from being the most empowered and loving presence we can be. When we harmonize our mind (Aquarius) with our heart (Leo), we naturally come back into our authentic, individual power, and can trust our our inner light to show us our path always and in all ways.
