Dear Star Tribe, Bonjour,
I am sure that many of you have been feeling the power of this epic Full Moon rising for many days now. Thank you for joining me as we explore the alchemical magic of this Full Moon and the tumultuous evolutionary waves of late October 2021. I believe that this Full Moon is the energetic crescendo of the entire year, which will catapult us to the energetic portals of 2022. Take some nice deep breaths and enjoy this read.
We are currently experiencing a powerful acceleration in the flow of life within and around us, since many planets have resumed direct motion in October after many weeks of retrograde movement. Pluto began the shift on October 6th, Saturn changed direction on October 10th, and Jupiter and Mercury both went direct on October 18th. All of this represents a tremendous surge of power (Pluto), responsibility (Saturn), communication (Mercury) as well as opportunities for growth and expansion (Jupiter). We are on a wild and intense journey, but the winds of faith and possibility are blowing strongly in our sails.
Let’s dive straight into the cosmic geometry of the Full Moon, which is always in opposition to the Sun. This week the Sun is in the late degrees of Libra, still conjunct Mars. The rambunctious energy of Mars rules Aries, and that is why this Full Moon shines a light that is a particularly feisty, bold and combustable, designed to activate the courageous Leader within everyone. Aries is inspiring all of us to initiate action that requires strength of character and personal sovereignty. Luna is also conjunct Eris, sister of Mars, goddess of discord and the patron saint of chaotic creation. I have become more and more fascinated by the Eris archetype, which I see growing stronger in the collective psyche. Eris and Mars are calling us to stand firmly and confidently in our deepest truth, reconnect with the infinite power of the human spirit, and simply do what we know we must. The Sun and Mars in Libra reminds us to express this gritty power in all our relationships with as much grace and poise as possible.
The archetype of Eris is highly complex but her purpose is fulfilled when in service to natural, divine law, and will aggressively challenge man-made laws that foster injustice. This is the seed of all the protest movements that we have seeing around the world for a number of years now, especially since Eris was discovered as a dwarf planet in 2005. When expressed immaturely, Eris can fuel the need to win at all costs as the fiercely competitive warrior archetype. The unconscious expression of Eris also comes out when we impulsively lash out at the systems of society because, inwardly, we are angry at giving up our sovereignty in order to fit in the system, out of fear of exile. The mature expression of Eris is the realization of the ways in which we are complicit in upholding current social structures. As we become more conscious of our instincts and our authentic self, we feel less pretence and more freedom to express our true nature. We accept that both love and strife are important and a necessary part of the human journey.
There is more! The Sun, Moon, Mars and Eris are all forming a 90 degree square angle with Pluto, lord of the Underworld, deep power and transformation.
Pluto rules the suppressed aspects of our inner nature, which lie at the depths of our unconscious. Pluto also represents incredible riches of untapped power, healing and regeneration when we allow the release of unconscious material to erupt onto the surface light of our conscious awareness. Some people could experience profound revelations from their own psyche or from people close to them.
When I meditated on the alchemical combination of Pluto with all these other planetary bodies, I visualized the eruption of many powerful volcanos of life-force energy in the global psyche of humanity, triggering a cascade of social, political and economic upheavals around the planet for many months. In the Big Picture reality, the fantastic thrust of all these eruptions are accelerating the birthing of a brand new consciousness, a new age and a new Earth. Can you feel this? What do you feel called to create in service to the world in your new empowered self? As we feel the power of the heroic sacred Warrior awakening more and more powerfully within all of us individually and collectively, we also need to honour the sacred responsibility of our life mission.
If you know your birthchart, I invite you to study the planets or angles between 24 and 29 degrees of the Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn. These placements are highly energized this week. I am feeling the potency of this Full Moon because it is powerfully stimulating my own chart! If you’re feeling caught in the grips of fear, anxiety, or even rage, it may be wise to wait until your system has become calm again to have pivotal conversations or make any major choices. This strong and magical energy reminds me of Bob Marley’s ‘Uprising’ album, where we see his massive dreadlocks rising from the ground, arms up in the air of a rising sun. So powerful and inspiring! May you feel the Uprising within you, and express your sacred Warrior with beauty and love for all creation.
