There are many planets geometrically wired to the Sun and Moon in this Eclipse sky, which generates an enormous amount of energy. Our central star is conjunct Mercury, Venus & the South Node of the Moon in Scorpio, while the Moon is conjunct Uranus & the North Node of the Moon in Taurus, on the opposite side of the Zodiac. All those planets form a square aspect to Saturn in Aquarius, creating a potent T-square configuration in the sky. This planetary alignment can generate some stress and frustration but also yields massive potential for growth when we integrate all the energies. The changes that happen around an eclipse tend to last many months, even years.
When the Sun shines in Scorpio every fall, we can experience an increase in the mystical flow of energy between the worlds. I feel that this Total Eclipse is the crescendo of a 2-year long geometric square aspect between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn represents the need for structure, order, stability and tradition, whereas Uranus symbolizes the urge for freedom, independence, radical change and innovation. The stress of this psychological tug of war has produced gigantic waves of energetic turbulence on the planet. We are seeing tectonic shifts in the expression of power and authority on the world stage as well as in our personal lives. It is significant to note that Queen Elizabeth II passed on during this potent planetary alignment. As a Taurus Sun, with a Leo Moon and Capricorn rising, she embodied a dignified and stabilizing influence during the longest reign (70 years) of any British monarch.
