Star Notes * June 17/18, 2023
Dear Star friends, Bonjour, ✨✨
Welcome to the cosmic effervescence flowing in this New Moon in Gemini, exact in the late evening of June 17 and early morning of June 18. Thank you so much for joining me! I truly love writing posts, offering 1:1 consultations and sharing the gift of astrology with more people.
When the Moon conjoins the Sun to form a New Moon, we have an opportunity to embrace the magic and purpose of a specific Zodiac sign. The Gemini New Moon invites us to become more conscious of the conversations we have with ourselves, other people and all life in our world and with the cosmos.
I enjoyed a long hike in the forest recently, which is where I often find the most mental clarity. I have Mercury in Taurus; makes sense. So many thoughts and insights started to flood my mind as I started down the trail, but I realized that I didn’t have my journal. Fortunately, I could record some thoughts, which helped to calm my mind. I continued hiking, revelling in the beauty all around me, cultivating mental stillness. This New Moon reminds us to trust that all the important messages will come flowing through when it is the perfect time to share them.
Neptune will be a tremendously important influence in this new 4-week lunar cycle as it closely squares the Sun and Moon. As the last planet in our solar system, Neptune, god of the seas, represents the portal between our world and the infinity of the cosmos. Imagine sailing on a vast sea, at night, far from land… All you see is water and en endless sparkling sky. In conscious expression, Neptune connects us the mystical realms of life, the beautiful mysteries that have inspired poets, gurus and spiritual seekers and teachers for eons. But Neptune and Pisces can also represent the drive to escape reality and numb consciousness.
When Neptune vibrates strongly, we may feel some confusion or illusion around us, similar to sailing in stormy seas. The purpose of Neptune is to open our intuitive guidance system so that we can feel our way through the mist with more gentleness, imagination and compassion. Neptune reminds us to co-navigate the seas of life with a deeper trust and faith, seeing with our heart and spirit. Our guardian angels and spirit guides are always close but we do need to ask and invite them in. This is a free will universe.
To embrace Neptune in Pisces in strong connection with the Sun and Moon in Gemini, we can invite more love and more compassion to flow through all our communications. In the symbolism of Pisces, one Fish swims downward towards the physical realms and the other swims upward towards the metaphysical dimensions. The Fishes remind us to flow back and forth between the physical and the cosmic, in our mind, heart and body. As the planet of imagination and intuition, Neptune inspires humanity to see and dream a new vision for our personal and collective future. Inspiration can come anytime, especially when we are calm and centred enough to receive it.
I once heard someone say that prayer is talking to spirit and meditation is listening to spirit. It is important to learn to cultivate quiet moments in our day. Then, we can stretch our vision toward the sky, beyond the clouds and Sun into a bright and magical universe. This New Moon invites us to communicate our thoughts and new visions not only in words, but through inspired creative expression as art, music, song or dance.
The amazing astrologer Rick Tarnas recently said: “world views create worlds.” This New Moon is a fantastic opportunity to seed our personal and collective mind with beautiful and inspired thoughts. As we go deeper into a planetary initiation and rebirth, we have a sacred responsibility and opportunity to express a greater love, share deeper knowledge, and hold more compassionate space for the collective transformation. “Groups of heroic individuals are coming together to co-creatively participate in the re-awakening of a meaningful, new narrative for human civilization.” (Rick Tarnas) I love this!
