Greetings star friends, Bonjour, Namasté. 🌞
Thank you very much for tuning in with me as we explore the cosmic messages of this New Moon in Gemini, which is exact at 7:30 am ET on Monday May 30th. It is always a joy and deep honor to interpret the language of the Stars with you. I invite you to take some deep breaths and engage all your senses to enjoy this reflection.
The synergetic power of the recent Solar and Lunar Eclipses are still reverberating strongly in the collective consciousness. Many of us are still riding the waves and processing tremendous changes. Astrologer Leslie Benson of astrograph.com wrote that “Gemini is more about thoughts and communication, so this New Moon is a good time to focus on our mental inquiry and how we’re framing into language what has been happening in our bodily experience and emotional states over the past month.”
Every New Moon is a sacred opportunity to come back to center, reorient ourselves and recalibrate our mind with new information for the journey ahead. This is especially true when the New Moon is in Gemini or Virgo, the Zodiac signs ruled by Mercury, Messenger of the gods. Mercury is still retrograde in Taurus for a few more days, and will station (stop) to direct motion on June 3rd. This retrograde is deepening the recalibration process. How do we recalibrate our mental functions? And to what frequency do we tune in our internal radio?
The world we live in is highly mercurial! Think about how much time most people spend with communication technology like computers, phones, the internet, television, video games, etc. When we are not connecting through a device, we often speak to other people or engage in internal dialogue. It seems obvious that maintaining conscious, loving, peaceful, harmonious communication is the most important aspect of human life. This New Moon in Gemini is designed to help us become more aware of the background noise, unconscious mental chatter, cognitive dissonance, and incessant conditioning by external authorities and media networks. The more we become conscious of our intellectual processes, the more we can consciously and purposefully reprogram our mind with high vibrational thoughts, ideas and mantras that are rooted in peace, joy, love and gratitude.
Gemini and Mercury are like highly sophisticated antennae or satellites that facilitate receiving and broadcasting communications between our soul and the spiritual intelligence of the universe. This New Moon is reminding us that it is time to clean our antennae so that we can transmit crisp and clear messages that reflect the wisdom of the galactic mind. In this New Moon chart, Mercury is conjunct the North Node of the Moon which is conjunct Uranus, all in Taurus. In terms of pure frequency, Uranus is known as the higher octave of Mercury, or in other words: “the creative power of the universal mind” (Dane Rudhyar).
More and more people are developing a stronger intuition, clairvoyance and psychic abilities. Many of my friends channel angels, spirit guides or galactic information of some kind. In our rapidly evolving world, it is not that we are accessing new information; we are more able to simply remember the universal wisdom stored deep within the cells of our DNA. When I began my journey with astrology back in the 90s, it felt mysteriously familiar. If you believe in reincarnation, it becomes easier to accept that every human being is coded with ancient knowledge and skills. We now live in a time when it is increasingly important to trust and express our innate wisdom.
In this New Moon chart, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eris are all geometrically aligned with Mercury. Saturn is encouraging us to have the discipline to focus our mind on the highest truth we know, and speak with integrity and maturity. Neptune is infusing our mind with compassion, intuition, imagination and greater vision so that we can better articulate our dreams. Pluto and Eris can help us to open our mind to see the deepest truths and communicate with greater passion and purpose for the empowerment of all.
On May 24th, Mars entered Aries, which strongly activated the Leader, Pioneer and Warrior energies within all of us. Mars also formed an exact conjunction with Jupiter in Aries just before this New Moon, and is expanding a very strong, combustible and volcanic energy in the collective psyche. We could see some sudden and intense eruptions in any area of the world and in any social, political, economic arena.
On a higher level, Mars and Jupiter in Aries is a cosmic invitation to tap into and feel the power of our inner Warrior to claim our unique path, take charge of our own energetics, and become the wise, courageous leaders of our own lives. We can allow ourselves to feel the heat and excitement of being alive and feel this invigorating rush of new energy. I am visualizing some movie scenes that magnificently captured the powerful magic of Aries. In Avatar, Jake boldly bonds with the most powerful creature in the sky to become the Toruk Makto and lead the Na’vi to reclaim their planet. In the Matrix: Reloaded, Morpheus makes an impassioned speech to uplift the spirit of everyone in the caves of Zion, the last human city. In LOTR, Gandalf grabbed his sword as he fell into a great abyss and valiantly fought the Balrog though the depths of Middle Earth. Where in your life do you feel called to boldly express the Hero within you, spark new energies or initiate an important project? Look to the House in your chart that is activated by the early degrees of Aries. Go for it, with peace and love in your heart!
On May 28th, Venus entered Taurus, which is another important configuration because Venus rules Taurus. This infusion of Venusian energy will help to ground the heat and intensity of Aries. Venus and Taurus are inviting us to slow our pace, calm down and breathe easier. We are called to embody our inner Buddha and channel the beautiful simplicity of peace. Venus in Taurus is about truly seeing and appreciating the exquisite beauty of nature, trees, animals, birds, insects, flowers and plants that are now blooming everywhere. Spending time in contemplation of nature always brings us back to a place of inner harmony, grace and poise. From this place, we can flow more intuitively with the natural rhythms of our precious home planet.
Venus in Taurus also correlates with the inner Artist and Lover. This state of being naturally stimulates us to enjoy the beauty and magic of our physical senses. Perhaps it was the Taurean beauty of the large farm near Woodstock, NY that inspired Joni Mitchell to write that famous song in which she wrote: “We are stardust. We are golden, and we got to get ourselves back to the garden.” Yes, I am a dreamer, but I know that I am not the only one!
As the social butterfly of the Zodiac, Gemini is designed to explore all the amazing flowers and pollinate the social beauty all around us. The Twins also possess a very flexible, fluid and open mind that allows us the flexibility to welcome duality, and to dance with paradox. We may not always understand it, but that is not the point. The point is to spread our wings and embrace the expansive spectrum of human experience. Love is the most beautiful and most powerful frequency! Let’s broadcast and embody the highest and deepest love possible.
