New Supermoon in Aquarius: Into the New

Star Notes - January 21, 2023

Dear star friends, 🌟

Welcome to the incredibly dynamic and powerful energetics of this supermoon in Aquarius! The winds of renewal, transformation and rebirth are blowing fiercely across the planet to awaken the mind and soul of humanity. I am sure you can feel this! Thank you so much for joining me in this exploration of the magic of Aquarius and the zeitgeist of early 2023.

The Sun just entered the windy skies of Aquarius on Friday the 20th and the Moon will conjoin the Sun one day later, on Saturday, January 21st, at exactly 3:53 pm. This is a supermoon because the Moon happens to be the closest it can be to the Earth. In fact, we haven’t had a New Moon this close to the Earth in over 900 years! This lunation cycle is intense also because Pluto, planet of deep power is closely conjunct the New Moon. Take some deep breaths and know/feel/trust that these strong, new energy waves are designed to propel us rapidly into the brand new potentials and possibilities of this year.

I recently enjoyed a lovely walk on a frozen lake, under a glorious sun that finally came out after a big snow storm. Have you ever noticed how the air is always brisk and refreshing after a storm passes through? This is part of the unique magic of Aquarius, a strong and vigorous Air sign, ruled by Saturn and Uranus. The influence of Saturn gives Aquarius a cool vibe and a firm energetic boundary, while Uranus infuses Aquarius with a very independent and revolutionary instinct. Some people embody this archetype quite strongly all the time, but now everyone has the opportunity to channel the spirit of Aquarius for the next few weeks, and for most of the year, actually.

After many months of retrograde movement, Uranus is moving direct on Sunday the 22nd, which amps up the vibrational influence of Aquarius in the collective psyche. Fundamentally, Uranus symbolises the power of liberation and unhooking ourselves from any limiting or controlling situation. It is also about embodying and expressing the freedom to do what we want to do, and be who we truly are in all situations.

We will experience the most significant shift of the entire year in March, when Pluto enters Aquarius, after 15 years in Capricorn. This will be another energetic tidal wave that will bring us a little more deeply into the Age of Aquarius. What does this all mean? Essentially, it is time for all of us to boldly and confidently express the most unique, original, quirky and authentic aspects of our nature and share more of who we truly are with the world, more of the time.

I sense that most people have not always felt safe to reveal their truest thoughts, beliefs or passions because of the fear of judgment or punishment from systems of authority in the past. The brutality of repression continues in many areas of the world; however, there is also a rise in human consciousness, connection, courage and assertiveness like never before! We have chosen to be here on planet Earth at this time to anchor the frequency of peace, love, compassion and joy, in one of the biggest turning points for humanity.

Our inner Aquarian-Uranian spirit reminds us that we are sovereign beings. As we walk the path of individual empowerment, we need time and space to explore the unique qualities of our soul essence, away from the pressures of group conformity, conditioning and programming. Through Aquarius, we embody the Rebel of the Zodiac and feel an instinct to question the authority/ integrity of any person, organization or system. Aquarius is also the Genius, sharing innovative, even revolutionary thinking to problems that are the result of old ideas.

Aquarius also understands the importance of belonging to social communities that share similar values and beliefs. This supermoon can inspire us to forge stronger connections with our soul families. Think about the amazing accomplishments that have been created in a spirit of collective collaboration and support. We are going to see the rise of many more this year and in the years to come.

You may remember the historic alignment of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, in December 2020. This great conjunction happens every 20 years, and always signals a change in the collective destiny of society. These alignments between Jupiter and Saturn occur in the same element for 200 years, then the cycle changes dramatically. The 2020 great conjunction in Aquarius symbolized the end of a 200 year cycle in Earth signs, and the beginning of a 200 year cycle in Air signs. This New Moon reawakens a long-term shift away from industrialization, and heralds a renaissance in communication, technology and intellectual discoveries of all kinds.

I feel that this Supermoon in Aquarius is like a cosmic thunderbolt creating new energies which will express themselves more powerfully in March, when Pluto finally enters Aquarius. The collective life force is now beginning to flow much more rapidly and forcefully than it has in the last 3 years. In pure archetypal expression, the energy of Uranus (freedom, individuality, innovation, liberation and revolution) is becoming stronger than the vibrations of both Saturn (control, limitation, authority) and Pluto (power, death and transformation), which have been echoing loudly since early 2020.

The tide is turning! The flow of life always finds a way to go over any obstacle that may slow it down for a while. Life is an epic adventure with many twists and turns, and Love guides us all the way. Enjoy the journey as much as you can!

Voilà! That is my reflection on the intense yet exciting power of this New Supermoon in Aquarius! I hope you enjoyed it.
